In this message, Michael Treat continues unpacking what spiritual formation is by taking the college group directly into 2 Corinthians 3:17-18. He walks through the key words of the passage to show that spiritual formation is freedom, both from sin and legalism and toward the greater pleasures found in Christ. It is exclusively inclusive, available to all who are in Christ but only to those who are in Christ. It is intentional, requiring us to position ourselves to gaze into the mirror of God's Word and then actually live what we see. It is transformational, a glory to glory process more like building a muscle than flipping a switch. And it is ultimately a gift, because even the means by which we grow are given to us by God. Michael closes by grounding everything in Philippians 3, where Paul describes the Christian life as pressing on toward Christ because Christ first took hold of us.
