The Commitment of Hannah

In this second message of the Walking By Faith series, Bro. Don walks through the story of Hannah to show what faithful, persistent prayer looks like in the middle of a long and painful season of waiting. He traces the difficulty Hannah faced, being barren, belittled by Peninnah, misunderstood by her husband, and even misjudged by the priest Eli when she poured her heart out before God. Despite all of this, Hannah persevered in fervent prayer, making a covenant with God to give back the very son she was asking for. Bro. Don highlights one of the most powerful moments in the passage, that Hannah worshiped on the way home before she had even conceived, and challenges us that gratitude thanks God after the answer comes but worship thanks him before it does. He closes by tracing Hannah's faithfulness all the way to Samuel anointing David as king, reminding us that one surrendered prayer can set in motion things far greater than we could ever imagine.
